## About Developer API

Developer API allows your internal apps and systems to connect to Kitehouse. You can go to <https://kitehouse.co.uk/docs/api-reference> to learn about the API endpoints that are available for use.

## Creating a Developer API Key

You'll need an API Key coming from Site Settings to authorise requests. To create one, follow the steps below:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Go to the Developer API Tab

Go to **Site Settings** then select **Developer API** in the sidebar.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Create an app

Create an app by giving it a name and click the '**Create app'** button. Copy the authorization key given and store it somewhere safe.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Please do note that the Authorization Key will **only be shown upon app creation.** Once done, you won't be able to copy it again.

{% endstep %}
